HBP at the Oscars

According to The New York Times, there is going to be a montage of scenes shown at the Oscars from Half Blood Prince and other Warner Brothers films. The Oscars take place on February 22, 2009 and anyone can see them on the telly (TV, the British way). Here are the other movies according to the article,

"Not too surprisingly, the company decided to put its biggest, if not best, foot forward: The choices were “Sherlock Holmes,” directed by Guy Ritchie with Robert Downey Jr.; “Terminator Salvation,” directed by McG with a temperamental Christian Bale; and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” directed by David Yates with Daniel Radcliffe."
The Oscars take place at 8 pm EST/5 pm PST, and you should all watch to see the clip. The NYT also brought up this point:
"Any one of these movies has a shot at selling as many tickets as all of the year’s Oscar nominees combined."

Emma Dreads to Kiss Rupert

According to the Telegraph, Emma is dreading her first on-screen kiss (ever!)-- with Rupert. At the Bafta Ceremony she said,

"Well I've never had to do it before so I can't say I have any techniques," she says. "I've never had to kiss anyone on screen so it is all new to me. "Of course I am nervous about it. But, apparently it gets quite boring after a couple of takes, that's what Dan said to me anyway."

Rupert's also pretty nervous too, though he's had some experience from his recent movie Cherrybomb.

All Good Things Come to an End

Though we can't say if Equus was a good thing for everyone, I suppose we can guess it was a good thing for Daniel Radcliffe, but like they say, all good things come to an end. Equus, which opened in September of 2008, is now closing this year. Playbill.com notes: "When it closes, the acclaimed revival will have played 21 previews and 156 regular performances." Pretty big news right there. Click here and here for more.

Also, Rupert Grint recently attended the world premier of his new film Cherrybomb, which premiered at the Berlin film festival yesterday. I guess you could day the filming might be a good thing coming to an end. For more click here.

Today the news has been very philosophical. Let's all think deep and intellectualy about the true meaning of Harry Potter. Let's all be like Dumbledore!
