Paparazzi Pics

As filming begins in Wales at "Shell Cottage" for Deathly  Hallows, the paparazzi is as thick as butter... if butter is that thick.

The upside of the paparazzi, however, is all the great pictures they take!

The Clock is A Reality

Speaking of mother's day... Here's a great gift for all those Moms who need to know where there family is due to a dark wizard on the loose. Or just because they'd like to know.

The New York Times is reporting that a new clock a bit like Mrs. Weasley is being tested. This clock will be able to track your family through their cell phones. So it's not exactly magic, but it's close!

It'll be able to give approximate locations such as: school, gym or work. And if you don't want Mum knowing where you are, there'll be an application to switch it off.

Happy Mother's Day!

It's the day of the Moms, and we all love our moms--we should! They gave us life after all.

Let's here it for all those great moms out there, Lily Potter, Mrs. Weasley, My mom, your mom, your grandma and my grandma. And of coursem JK Rowling herself.

So here's to all those fabulously awesome moms out there! Today's your day.

And all you Harry Potter fans out there? Do something nice for Mom today. Be it introduce her to Harry Potter, Siriusly Potter or just give her a day of relaxation and no talk of Harry Potter and the podcast you run (that's what my mom would like) she deserves it.

New HBP Commercial

Here's a new Half-Blood Prince commercial via YouTube.

Here's a spoiler: It has a lot of Harry/Ginny and Ron, Hermione, and Lavender love triangle!

Latin? (harry Potter, educational?)

Yes folks, that's right, the Harry Potter book series can actually be educational. When JK Rowling made up the spells and names for the series, she didn't just think, "Hmmm, I like chocolate...I think i will make a spell called 'Chocolateiso Brownieo' and i will turn people into kiwis!" No, she didn't. She did her resurch well and many spells are actually derived from the latin root of what they do, such as:

Wingardium Leviosa (Levitation Charm)
"wing" + "arduus" L. high, steep + "levo" L. to raise up, levitate

Also, Rowling named many of her charactors after many famouse, Greek heroes and emerors: Hermione: the only daughter of Menelaus and Helen from the Trojan war
Severus: A greek emperor (and not a very popular one at that)
Minerva: another name for the greek godess "Athena", the godess of wisdome (and as fate would have it, she is also the godess of strictness)

So, when your mom gets on your case for not doing any homework, say, "Harry Potter is made me smarter-er two!" (Now you know why I am the way I is)
